(July 6, 2020, 3:47 pm)I decided to give Inman & Co a try because of their proximity to my house. I also really liked the small business feel of the location having driven by a number of times. I prefer small/local businesses when I have a choice.
I brought in a very large ottoman that I have owned for about 20 years. I had it covered once about ten years ago, but can tell you the experience I had with Inman was much better than the 1st place I took it to all those years ago when I lived on the East Side.
Being a smaller shop, I received excellent and prompt attention. They were very professional, knowledgeable and figured my cost while I waited. I had my piece in the back of my truck and once I decided to go ahead, their guys came out and carried it into the shop.
They had material that was close to what I needed and I was quite happy with what they had available on hand. If you are trying to match a specific color, I would suggest consulting with them.
My ottoman was finished in a very timely manner and the price was quite reasonable. The work was on point and I had zero to complain about. Sturdy and flawlessly done. Just the way I like it.
Please be aware, they don't have a showroom or anything like that. This is a working shop with a good amount of business and it is pretty much all dedicated working space. I saw 2 large delivery trucks pull up while i was dropping off and this tells me they have a good amount of business but they also don't treat new customers like they are unwelcome. Honestly, it feels like the kind of place your friend in the know would tell you about and I also really like that.
I just dropped by the shop and knocked on the door since I was very close, but you should maybe consider calling ahead since they can expect you that way especially of you aren't near them.
Next time I need some upholstery work, I will 100% be coming back to see these guys! Hopefully you have an excellent experience like I did, and you probably will!
